liverpool and late night decisions

Another week on the road. Another hotel room that looks exactly like the last one. Sometimes I wonder if these places are designed to make business travelers slowly lose their minds. Liverpool this time round which means another chance to break up the monotony.

Truth is I was feeling pretty low. Sales targets have been brutal and the divorce papers are still hanging over me like a grey cloud. My usual routine when Im feeling like this is to scroll through some sites and see whos available. Not exactly romantic I know but its honest.

Found a girl called Rachel who looked sound. Mixed asian, early 30s, seemed genuinely up for a chat as much as anything else. Hotel bar first which was smart. Takes the edge off. She was witty, knew her way around Manchester and Liverpool scenes better than most. We talked about nothing and everything which was nice. Sometimes thats what you really want more than anything.

Ended up back in my room. Dont need to go into graphic details but it was good. Not just the physical stuff. The connection. Someone actually listening to me for a change. Sometimes thats worth more than anything else when youre constantly moving and feeling invisible.

Back on the road tomorrow. Another city another hotel another temporary connection. Its a weird life but its mine.
