hotel room blues: another wednesday in birmingham

Another sodding Wednesday night in a generic Premier Inn. Birmingham this time. Sometimes I swear these chain hotels all blend into one massive beige blur of corporate carpeting and identical rooms.

Booked a girl through an agency this time. Sophie. Tall brunette, mid 20s. Professional looking photo, seemed less... rough around the edges compared to some of the girls I've met. Travel wears you down and these encounters are basically my only real human connection these days.

Divorced two years now. Sales rep life means I'm constantly moving between cities. Manchester to Birmingham, Leeds to Newcastle. Hotel rooms start feeling more like home than my actual flat. And christ, the loneliness creeps in fast when youre on the road constantly.

Sophie arrived precisely at 8pm. Clean, efficient. We chatted a bit first which I always prefer. Makes things feel less transactional. She knew her way around, professional but not cold. Didnt feel like Im just another anonymous businessman killing time between meetings.

Won't go into graphic details. Thats not really my style. But it was good. Helped take the edge off. Beats another night of room service and shit hotel tv.
